Abstract (en)
The reviewer writes "this lavish work, the result of a major scholarly collaboration coordinated by Juan Antonio Ramirez, examines the relevance of the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem to the history of Western architecture." The focus of this publication is the first unabridged Spanish translation of In Ezechielem explanationes (the first volume of which was signed by Jerónimo de Prado, while the other two were unquestionably the work of Villalpando). This treatise is a thorough literary and visual reconstruction of the Temple of Solomon which was published in Rome in 1596 and 1604. Dios arquitecto includes a collection of critical essays, independently bound as a third volume, which addresses a series of questions surrounding the temple and its influence on the history of architecture.
