Exhibition catalogue containing 24 essays interspersed with entries and commentaries. Essays treat Treu's early life and archaeological work; his tenure as director of the ancient sculpture and cast collections in Dresden; the alterations, decoration, and installation of the Albertinum; the expansion of the collection to include contemporary sculpture; and Treu's relations with Rodin and Klinger; also included are several articles by Treu on sculpture, both ancient and contemporary (Batholomé, Rodin, Meunier). Contributing authors are as follows: Heiner Protzmann, Kordelia Knoll, Christel Wünsch, Bärbel Stephan, Claude Keisch, Ingeborg Raumschüssel, and Ludmila I. Akimowa.
