Study of the unusually close collaboration between the publisher Giovanni Giacomo De Rossi and the young etcher Giovanni Battista Falda; their first publication, Il nuova teatro delle fabriche et edificii in prospettiva di Roma moderna±V1 A1(1665) celebrated the architectural projects of Alexander VII and marked the culmination of De Rossi's efforts to court the pope and obtain his protection.
