Reprints a 1905 article by McCardell on the history of the color Sunday supplement to the New York World, which was introduced in 1894. Recounts the success of the supplement and the cartoonists who drew for it, including Outcault and Opper. Harvey offers annotations to explain some of McCardell's comments.
