Catalogues and describes the mural paintings (13th-16th cs.) in the rock-cut church of the Grotte del Crocifisso, Lentini. Many of the frescoes date to the period of the Norman conquest (13th-14th c.), and show the influence of Byzantine art. Includes an introductory essay surveying rock-cut architecture in eastern Sicily.
