Catalogue entries for 24 metalwork objects (chiefly reliquaries), 15th-18th cs., from the church treasury in S. Lorenzo, Florence, and a catalogue list of ca.100 other reliquaries from the same church. Introductory essays discuss the history, 16th-20th cs., of the collection of reliquaries, which were generally gifts to S. Lorenzo from the Medici family, and survey the art and architecture, 16th-19th cs., of the crypt and the Cappella dei Principi in S. Lorenzo.
