Abstract (en)

Identifies criteria essential to critical analysis of photographs, and applies them in studying aspects and examples of Mexican photography, e.g., photojournalism by Enrique Díaz, documentary works by Tina Modotti, and portraits by Lola Álvarez Bravo. Concludes that the critic must consider technical, formal, socio-historial, iconographic, and psychological aspects when analyzing a photograph.
