Publishes a black and red chalk drawing which was acquired by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1993 as Portrait of a Man's Head, erroneously attributed at the time of sale to Simone Cantorini and subsequently established as a work by Guido Reni. James proposes the drawing is a portrait of musician, artist and Master of the King's Musick, Nicholas Lanier. She dates the work ca.1625-1626, making it one of the earliest portraits of the often-painted Lanier to surface so far.
