Abstract (en)

Draws attention to tax advantages which accrue to museums in Britain which charge admission fees. Specifically, museums which charge can reclaim Value Added Tax on much of their expenditure. Bailey laments this incentive for charging visitors, especially at a time when museums are facing cuts in government subsidies.
