Le tableau de Leibl que Mayr appréciait le plus est Trois Femmes à l'église (Hamburg, Kunsthalle). L'auteur le compare avec la peinture de Marc Louis Vautier Eglise de village (Worms, Stiftung Kunsthaus Heylshof)
