Reexamines Belbello's career, production, Late Gothic style, and reception, as well as contemporary developments in manuscript illumination between the Veneto and Lombardy, in response to the recent rediscovery, in the Musée des beaux-arts of Orléans, of three illuminated initials by him, cuttings from the choirbooks of S. Giorgio Maggiore, Venice.
