Abstract (en)

Presents new evidence concerning the marriage of Tiberio Tinelli and Giovanna Garzoni, the bizarre circumstances of which Ridolfi describes accurately but without naming the bride. Publishes documents from the case brought (unsuccessfully) before the Inquisition in 1623 by Giovanna's father, Giovan Giacomo Garzoni, who charged that Tinelli used sorcery to induce his daughter to break her vow of chastity. Appendix with transcriptions of documents.
