Proposes that the large panel by Uccello most often seen as representing the battle of San Romano of 1432 (Paris, Louvre) and as one of a set with Uccello's panels in London and Florence, is in fact not part of a trio but a single panel showing a different struggle - the battle of Anghiari of 1440. Notes that the Louvre panel differs in style and composition from those in London and Florence, shows a later fashion in armor, and does not work as part of a tripartite composition.
