Accompanies an exhibition devoted to French printmaking, 1610 to 1660. The catalogue includes four essays: Préaud writes on intaglio printmaking in Paris; Grivel on the market for prints; Goldstein on the works of Abraham Bosse; and Clark on Simon Vouet and his printmakers. These are followed by 126 expository catalogue entries and biographies of the printmakers. Among the artists who are well represented are Jacques Bellange, Bosse, Pierre Brebiette, Jacques Callot, Stefano della Bella, Albert Flamen, Laurent de La Hyre, Claude Mellan, and Jean Morin.
