Abstract
(en)
Reexamines the iconography of the three chiaroscuro drawings by Veronese from the Muselli collection, known as Pittura Quarta: Virgin and Child with Angels (Paris, Louvre); Pittura Quinta: Virgin and Child with S. Anne and Angels (New York, Mooney collection); and Pittura Sesta (known from a copy in the Kunsthalle, Bremen); argues that the subjects are, respectively, the seamless robe of Christ, the Immaculate Conception, and the Earthly Trinity at table.
