Reviews the exhibition Rings: five passions in world art at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. Orchestrated during the 1996 Olympic games, the exhibition was organized around the themes of love, anguish, awe, triumph and joy, displaying both western and non-western art from many periods. The reviewer characterizes it as a non-effectual spectacle.
