Surveys the life and career of the Flemish tapestry weaver Behagle, who took over the administration of the Beauvais tapestry manufactory in 1684. Pays particular attention to two series made before his time at Beauvais - Conquests of Louis XIV and Glorification of the King - devoted to the victories of Louis XIV, as well as their variants, their sources, and their eventual ownership by Graf von Brühl.
