Abstract (en)

Addresses the iconography of a (12th or 13th c.?) niche mosaic in the cappella di S. Zeno which depicts the Madonna and Child with SS. Praxedis and Pudentiana; the Child holds a scroll inscribed 'Ego sum lux'. The chapel was built by pope Paschal I (817-824), and the other mosaics in the chapel date to his period.
