Abstract (en)

Reviews various avenues that have been explored in the still inconclusive search for the origin of a group of silk quilts. The quilts are datable to the 17th c. on the basis of the condition of their fabric, their use of late Renaissance decorative motifs, and their stylistic similarity to documented 17th c. textiles.
