Abstract (en)

Note on the reception of one of four bronze lions sculpted by Johann von Halbig for the quadriga atop the Siegestor in Munich. The lion was viewed during the winter of 1851-1852 as it was transported back from a London exhibition. The lions were cast by Ferdinand von Miller.
