Abstract (en)

Series of 105 oils of early Oklahoma buildings painted by Lackey, 1945-1949, for Thomas Gilcrease (Tulsa, Gilcrease Museum). The pictures show 19th and early-20th c. buildings in the former Indian and Oklahoma territories that were "built and operated by Indians, for Indians or on account of Indians," e.g., Indian agencies, schools and forts.
