Moran's creative imagination was engaged throughout his career by Turner. Moran paid homage to Turner not only by copying his paintings and visiting the locales of their origins, but by a lifelong exploration of the way Turner made art, the manner in which he viewed nature and translated that vision to canvas and paper.
