Provides a history of the gallery of modern art opened by Davidge in New York in 1909. Davidge was responsible through her activities as a gallerist for introducing many modern painters to the American public, and upon the closure of her gallery in 1912 she became active in the organization of the 1913 Armory Show, including decorating the hall for the exhibition. (Appendix lists exhibitions held at the Madison Art Gallery, 1910-1912).
