Discusses a project initiated at the Kunsthistorische Institut of the Universität Kiel in 1990 to inventory extant wood sculpture in the historical regions of Schleswig, Holstein and Lauenburg. Presents some of the material collected during the study, and describes the methodology used by the researchers.
