Public outcry arose when it was revealed that a large mosaic mural of 1916 by Maxfield Parrish, Dream Garden, housed in the Curtis Center, Philadelphia, had been sold to Steve Wynn, the casino mogul who recently opened the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas. Hearing of the uproar, Wynn backed out of the sale and the mosaic was placed under protection by the city to prevent further attempts to sell or move the work.
