Abstract (en)

Describes a series of notebooks, including photographs, animation cels, and explanatory text, compiled by Herman Schultheis, a Disney employee from 1938 to 1940. Schultheis's notebooks demonstrate how special effects were obtained in several classic Disney animated features, notably "Fantasia" and "Pinocchio".
