Abstract
(en)
Closely examines fragments of Byzantine-style mural painting in the church of S. Angelo, San Chirico Raparo (Basilicata region), and revises in part the dating previously assigned by E. Bertaux (L'arte dans l'Italie méridionale, Paris, 1903) and other earlier scholars. Dates the paintings from the first phase to late 11th-early 12th cs., and those of the second phase to late 12th-early 13th cs. (Bertaux had assigned the second phase decoration to the 14th or 15th c.).
