Abstract (en)

Discusses the first sepulchral monument (1263) of S. Anthony of Padua in the basilica of S. Antonio. The monument, of green porphyry, was placed in the center of the transept. Discusses the symbolism associated with the colors of porphyry during the Middle Ages in the Veneto. Also treats the construction process (1263-1265) of the basilica.
