Describes 15th-16th c. majolica (some of which is lustred Hispano-Moresque ware), excavated 1997 in the Castel nuovo, Naples. Observes that the lustred pieces were either imported from Islamic Spain, or were produced by a Valencian potter at the Castel nuovo in Naples. Notes that a kiln previously excavated in one of the ground-floor rooms of the castle evidently represents the majolica atelier of the Aragonese court.
