Studies the history of the altar of S. Lorenzo commissioned by Lorenzo di Giovanni di Petruccio. The sculptural decoration was carried out (1459) by Agostino di Duccio in the church of S. Domenico, Perugia. Subsequently the altar was dismantled and partially reassembled during the construction of a new chapel for the Giovanni di Petruccio family. Identifies a panel S. Bridget Receiving the Rule for her Order (New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art) as the missing predella of the altar, and analyzes its iconography, which is based on the Revelationes of S. Bridget.
