Surveys the early history of Vaevestuen (The Weaving Workshop), founded 1913 under the auspices of Dansk Husflidsselskab (The Danish Handicrafts Association) in order to revive good weaving standards and traditional Danish styles and fabrics. Looks at the promoters (prominent Danish artists and architects such as Martin Nyrop and Anton Rosen) and at its aftermath - influencing the interest in traditional embroidery and modern weaving.
