Abstract (en)

Studies the mystical content in DeFeo's The Rose (1958-1966; New York, Whitney Museum of American Art), prompted especially by Wallace Berman's photograph - which itself carries cabalistic overtones along with an homage to Leonardo da Vinci - showing the nude artist in front of the painting with the Hebrew letter tzaddi superimposed on her chest.
