Presents 10 papers on the art historical and philosophical writings of Wind. Most of the papers were originally presented at a conference sponsored by the Einstein Forum, Potsdam, in 1996. Also includes an account of Wind's years at Oxford, by James McConica; an interview with Pierre Hadot on Wind's approach to the study of Renaissance culture; and an excerpt by Wind titled "Bild und Text", taken from an unpublished draft of an introduction to Pagan mysteries in the Renaissance.
