Abstract (en)
Examines Wind's theory of "embodiment" as applied both to pure philosophy and to the arts and sciences. Discusses the influence on Wind of numerous philosophers, including David Hume, Immanuel Kant, Charles Peirce, Alfred Whitehead, and Clarence Irving Lewis; and positions Wind's theory within the context of Platonism and Neo-Platonism. In appendixes lists the philosophy and art courses taught by Wind at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC (1926-1927), and at Smith College, Northampton, MA (1948-1955).
