Prompted by the exhibition of the photographer's work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), publishes portions of interviews conducted with Strand in 1971 and 1975. Topics covered include Stieglitz's comments on Strand's work, the shows and community at Stieglitz's gallery 291 (New York), and the Armory Show (1913; New York). Connects these extracts with commentary that provides a biographical framework of Strand's early life to ca.1916.
