Published in 1915 and 1916, the journal 291 was devoted to the latest tendencies in modern art, and financed by Stieglitz. Bohn addresses the illustrations depicting women, including concrete poetry by Marius de Zayas, Agnes Ernst Meyer and Katharine Nash Rhoades, and a mechanomorphic drawing by Picabia.
