On the art collections of the margravate of Bayreuth as they were amassed primarily during the 18th c. Focuses on the collecting activities of the Markgräfin Wilhelmine and her husband, Markgraf Friedrich von Brandenburg-Bayreuth. Notes their predilection for Frankish and southern German paintings, also works by Dutch and Flemish artists. Identifies works acquired during their trip to Italy in 1754-1755, and discusses Friedrich's personal interest in prints, gems, and medals.
