Abstract (en)

On the production and conservation history of the majolica pavement tiles (1455-1457) by Giacomo di Marino in the Cappella dei Priori, Palazzo dei Priori, Perugia. Many of the original tiles were sold and are now in various collections. The mural paintings in the chapel were executed in the 1450s by Benedetto Bonfigli, and the author suggests that the chapel decoration was conceived as a decorative ensemble. Also surveys the activity (1426-1463) of the maiolicaro Giacomo di Marino. Appendix: document, 1455.
