Abstract (en)

Determines the birth date of Fumiani (through documents transcribed in appendix) as 24 July 1643. Reviews the artist's early career in Bologna and Venice and contacts with such artists as Valentin Lefèvre and Domenico degli Ambrogi. Discusses the works made for the painter's chief patron, Prince Iohann Adam Andreas I of Liechtenstein. Considers later works, including a Livia Wife of Augustus with the Eagle (location unknown) that had earlier been attributed to the young Paolo Veronese.
