Abstract
(en)
Discusses the relationship of law and aesthetics in modern Europe and North America, including (at one extreme) issues of the use of art by political power and the censorship of art and (at the other) the professed separation of art from law; finds that the relation of the two is more complex and changeable. Summarizes the essays that make up the remainder of the text.
