Studies Cavalcaselle's examination of Bellini's Coronation Altarpiece (Pesaro, Museo Civico), considering especially the annotated drawings that the art historian made after the work (MS 12271; Venice, Biblioteca Marciana). Proposes that Carpaccio collaborated with the older artist in the making of the predella panels, which reveal not only Carpaccio's youthful style but also the influence of drawings by Jacopo Bellini (Paris, Louvre).
