Abstract
(en)
Author is concerned with the recovery of elements of Greenberg's Jewish subjectivity involving his relationship to the question of self criticism. Kaplan writes "this essay focuses on a series of substitutions whereby the question of 'self-criticism' was displaced and diverted from the matrix of Greenberg's Jewish identity to other intellectual historical markers and proper names (e.g., Kantianism, formalism, modernism)".
