Abstract (en)

Reviews the medieval and post-medieval types of roof construction in Somerset occasioned by recent dendrochronological investigations carried out by the Somerset Vernacular Building Research Group in 1996-1998. The successful tree-ring dating of 22 roofs helps to confirm a chronological order for the different types of roof discussed.
