On the work of the painters Domenico Carnevali, Giovanni Battista Ingoni, Ercole Setti and Francesco Madonnina, all active (late 16th c.) in Modena. Appendix: transcribes two previously unpublished documents: the will (1579) of Domenico Carnevali; and a contract (1557-1558) employing the painter Giovanni Taraschi to decorate and gild the (now lost) carved frame of an altarpiece by Dosso Dossi in the church of S. Geminiano, Modena.
