- Presents two previously unpublished drawings (private collection) by Ingres, and the letter (1858) to Mussini in which they were enclosed, and discusses Ingres's influence on Mussini as an artist. Identifies the drawings as studies from the first phase of Ingres's preparations for a (never executed) mural painting (Age of Gold) commissioned by the duc de Luynes, Honoré d'Albert, for his castle in Dampierre.
