Abstract (en)

Explores the representation in Venetian painting and book illustration of (late 15th-mid-16th cs.) of subjects from Boccaccio's Decameron. Treats the woodcut illustrations in editions of 1492, 1546 and 1552, and paintings by Vittore Carpaccio, Bonifacio Veronese, Paris Bordone and other (anonymous) artists.
