Describes a late 18th c. majolica pavement (Mazara del Vallo, S. Caterina) with representations of the Cardinal Virtues and Christian symbols, and presents a previously unpublished preparatory drawing (S. Caterina) for the pavement. Observes that the iconography of the pavement is directly linked with that of the ceiling paintings (1796) by Giuseppe Testa in the church. Attributes the preparatory drawing for the pavement to Giuseppe Testa, and the majolica panels to ceramists from Trapani.
