Analyzes the iconography (chiefly Franciscan) of the monochrome mural paintings commissioned by Malatesta Novello in the refectory of the convent of S. Francesco, Cesena. The cycle is considered to be by the school of Bartolomeo di Tommaso da Foligno. Identifies one of the scenes as S. Gregory the Great Praying for the Resurrection of Trajan from Dante's Divine Comedy.
