Danielson-Gambogi is one of the most important Finnish women painters. Konttinen writes about her studies and work in Finland and Paris. Savojärvi writes about her life and art in Italy where the artist traveled for the first time in 1895. In 1898 she married Italian painter Raffaello Gambogi who is also introduced in the text. Danielson-Gambogi often painted women and children in unconventional ways.
