The Memorial Hall was built to commemorate the sacrifice of Old Marlburians in the First World War. Examines the controversial decision to build the hall in the context of the public mood and opinion prevailing during and after the war, and assesses the shortcomings of the resulting structure as a memorial. William Newton was chosen as the architect. Notes Sir Ninian Comper's wall paintings added in 1951.
